Licence verification API · regulator registers, read nightly

Is this site licensed right now — and who says so?

One call answers with the regulator, the licence, the page that published its status and when we last read it. We only say what a register said. A site missing from a register is never called unlicensed.

Every register, and what it can tell us

Some regulators publish revocations; many publish nothing at all. Where nothing is published, a licence that leaves the register stays not_in_register — we do not guess why. Each register is the authority; this table is our copy of it.

Registers that publish no revocations show only active and not_in_register — that is a fact about what they publish, not a clean record. A night we cannot read a register changes nothing, and every answer names a register that is overdue.

Where does the site actually open?

A licence says where an operator may take players. A geo-check shows what a visitor in each country is served. Ask for any domain: we fetch it from inside ten markets and keep what each one saw.

So far: 3,037 domains checked from 10 countries, since 22 Oct

  • reachable — rendered in a browser in that country; a person checked the screenshot
  • in_review — served a page; waiting for that screenshot check
  • geo_blocked — served a block page, a 451, or a redirect away
  • refused — every in-country probe turned away, browser included
  • unknown — a captcha, a timeout or an unverified proxy — we say so

Every answer brings its evidence

The fields a compliance file needs are in the response itself, not behind a support ticket.

  1. 1 verdict_detail One sentence you can paste into a case file, with the date of our read in it.
  2. 2 match.confidence How the domain was matched. high means the regulator lists this exact site; anything lower is never called licensed.
  3. 3 match.status_source_url The regulator page that published this status — often an enforcement list, not the register.
  4. 4 match.status_observed_at When we read that status. The page as we read it is kept.
  5. 5 _meta.register.last_read_at When we last read the whole register, and whether that is inside its freshness window.

On a miss the answer lists every register it checked, and names any register we have not read recently enough to be sure.

Questions

Anything else: founder@igregulator.io

What is iGregulator? +

iGregulator is a gambling licence verification API. It checks whether an operator holds a valid licence across UKGC, MGA, Curaçao, Kahnawake, Anjouan, Tobique, the Isle of Man, Ontario, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Colombia and Ukraine, and surfaces status changes, expiries, and revocations as machine-readable data.

Which jurisdictions do you cover? +

Fourteen registers are live today:

  • UK Gambling Commission (UKGC)
  • Malta Gaming Authority (MGA)
  • Curaçao Gaming Authority (CW)
  • Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KH)
  • Anjouan (AN)
  • Tobique Gaming Commission (TGC)
  • Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (IOM)
  • Ontario (ON): the iGaming Ontario operator directory, the public list of operators the AGCO registers
  • Sweden (SE): Spelinspektionen, commercial online gaming and betting licences only; lotteries and land-based licences are not covered
  • Spain (ES): the DGOJ, state-level online licences only; the state lotteries and regional land-based gambling are not covered
  • Belgium (BE): the Gaming Commission, online licences A+, B+ and F1+ only; land-based licences and the Loterie Nationale are not covered
  • Germany (DE): the GGL whitelist, its four internet game types only; online casino games licensed by a Land, lotteries and land casinos are not covered
  • Colombia (CO): Coljuegos, online gaming concessions only; land-based gaming and the lotteries are not covered
  • Ukraine (UA): PlayCity, online casino, poker and bookmaking licences only; land casinos, slot halls and the state lotteries are not covered

More are added over time. Every plan reads every register; coverage is never gated by tier.

How current is the licensing data? +

Every register is read daily, and every status shows when we last read it and which regulator page it came from. If a read fails, we change nothing rather than guess. Live per-register freshness (when we last read each register) is at igregulator.io/status/. Tobique's site currently blocks most automated reads.

What is free, and what is paid? +

Free, with no account: lookups without a key (10 per IP per hour, on the API, the lookup on this page and the MCP server's keyless tools), the embeddable badge, and every public brand, operator and licence page. An API key comes with a plan: Starter is €45 a month, and its first 14 days are free — a card is required to start, and it is charged on day 15 unless you cancel. Pro and Business are paid by card, or by invoice for three months or more. Prices exclude VAT.

Who is iGregulator for? +

Compliance teams, payment providers, affiliate networks, and iGaming law firms that need machine-readable licensing data without a $10k+ contract with an incumbent compliance suite.

Do you offer an API and an MCP server? +

Both. A REST API with Bearer-token auth, plus a hosted MCP server at mcp.igregulator.io so AI agents like Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, and Windsurf can verify licences directly.
